RAISING THE SEATS (5 seat vehicle)
Always check and physically test that the cushions and seatbacks are secure before driving. If the seatbacks are not fully locked in place, red markers will be visible around the seatback levers. Unsecured seat cushions and seatbacks may not properly restrain an occupant during a collision or sudden stop, which could result in serious injury or death.
When raising the rear seats, make sure that the seat belts are correctly routed into the seat belt guides and not trapped behind the seats.
Pull the strap vertically to unlock the seats, then raise the seats by following the lowering process in reverse.
