PAIRING AND CONNECTING A BLUETOOTH® PHONE OR DEVICE

A paired phone or device can be connected for different uses, e.g., phone or music. Pairing is normally required only once.

When the ignition is switched on, the vehicle automatically tries to re-connect to a previously paired Bluetooth® wireless technology phone or device. The Bluetooth wireless technology phone or device will only connect if it is within range of the vehicle.

When the previously automatic connected phone or device is not made, or to connect a new phone or device. The following pairing methods are used:

Pairing using the phone or device (preferred method):
  1. Switch the ignition on and make sure that the touch screen is active.

  2. Select Settings icon to display the SETTINGS pop up menu.

  3. Select General settings, then Bluetooth.

  4. From the list, select Make System Discoverable.

  5. Switch on the phone or device’s Bluetooth wireless technology device connection. Using the phone or device, search for and select the vehicle's Bluetooth connection. See the phone or device’s operating instructions for more information.

  6. The phone or device displays a passkey number. When this number matches the number on the touch screen, touch Yes, or press Pair on the phone or device.

Pairing using the touch screen:
  1. Switch on the phone or device’s Bluetooth wireless technology device connection. Make sure that the phone or device is in Bluetooth wireless technology device discoverable mode, sometimes referred to as find me mode. See the phone or device’s operating instructions for more information.

  2. Switch the ignition on and make sure that the touch screen is active.

  3. Select Settings icon to display the SETTINGS pop up menu.

  4. Select General settings then Bluetooth.

  5. Select Search for Bluetooth Devices.

  6. The system searches for a phone or device and, if found, the screen displays the phone or device details.

  7. Select the required device.

    When the phone or device is not found, the screen displaysNO DEVICES FOUND.

    NOTES

    The phone or device list can store up to four entries.

  8. The phone or devices displays a passkey number. When this number matches the number on the touch screen, touch Yes.

  9. When a phone or device is paired, it is included in the connected device's list and on the PHONE screen. The connected device also appears in the Bluetooth, List of Paired Devices section.
