The general driving program is compatible with all on-road and off-road conditions. Select the general driving program when driving on surfaces which are similar to a hard road surface. For example, dry cobbles, asphalt, or dry wooden planks.

The general driving program returns all of the vehicle's systems to their normal settings. The Hill Descent Control (HDC) system remains active if it was previously selected manually.

Select the general driving program when the need for any other terrain response driving program has passed.

The general driving program allows vehicles with an active driveline to automatically switch between 2 Wheel Drive (2WD) and 4 Wheel Drive (4WD). In some conditions, the vehicle's driveability and fuel economy can be improved by varying between 4WD and 2WD.

Permanent 4WD is maintained in all other terrain response driving programs.
