FRONT HEAD RESTRAINTS

WARNING

Head restraints are designed to support the head, not the back of the neck. The head restraint must be positioned correctly to restrain rearward movement of the head in a collision.

WARNING

While stationary, adjust the head restraint so that the top of the head restraint is above the centreline of the head. An incorrectly adjusted head restraint increases the risk of death or serious injury in the event of a collision.

WARNING

Do not drive or carry passengers with the head restraints removed from occupied seats. The absence of a correctly adjusted head restraint increases the risk of neck injury in the event of a collision.

WARNING

Never adjust the head restraints while the vehicle is in motion.

WARNING

Always store a removed head restraint securely. In the event of an accident, an unsecured object could cause serious injury or death.

CAUTION

Head restraints fitted with rear media screens must not be removed.

To adjust the head restraint:

  1. To raise the head restraint, pull it upward.

  2. Press the button on the side of the head restraint to move the head restraint downward. Simultaneously press down on the head restraint.

Two people are required when removing a front head restraint. To remove the head restraint:

  1. Move the head restraint to the fully raised position.

  2. Using two hands, press down on each of the head restraint stem collars. The stem collars engage hidden buttons inside the seat.

  3. While the collars are pressed down, the second person can lift out the head restraint.

Make sure the head restraint is refitted before the seat is used by a passenger.

To refit the head restraint:

  1. Press the button on the side of the head restraint. Push the stems into the head restraint as far as they will go.

  2. Line the stems up with the hole in the collars on the seatback. Push the head restraint down until both stems engage in the locked position.
